Alvarez Yairi Dym60hd Masterworks Dreadnought Adirondack Acoustic Guitar Natural

Alvarez Yairi Dym60hd Masterworks Dreadnought Adirondack Acoustic Guitar Natural

$2699

The Yairi DYM60HD Masterworks Dreadnought Adirondack acoustic guitar has a solid, vintage Honduran mahogany body that has been paired with AAAA Adirondack spruce. Sonically, it's incredibly full and powerful with huge clear bass and mids. Theyre almost intuitive in the way they respond, and captivating in the way they draw the player in and take them away. You will lose hours in your day playing one of these amazing instruments.

The Yairi DYM60HD Masterworks does everything youd expect from a correctly designed dreadnought and more. Made from AAAA North American Adirondack spruce, vintage Honduran mahogany (naturally seasoned for 50 years) and ebony components, this guitar has incredible genes. The quality and seasoning of these woods help to make this guitar very light in weight. This helps in several ways when it comes to tone. The guitar is alive and extremely responsive. The added stiffness of the Adirondack helps in creating more energy, and when paired with the mahogany, generates a stunning warm and open voice with powerful, clear bass and middle frequencies. The trebles are a little darker than Alvarez's rosewood guitars and have roundness to them, plus a bell-like quality.

Drive the Yairi DYM60HD Masterworks Dreadnought as hard as you wish and it will keep responding, even to extremely heavy strumming or flatpicking. Approach the guitar with a lighter attack or fingerstyle playing and its instant response is even more apparent. The speed of which the DYM answers you is instantaneous.

The guitar has custom, hand-cut FST2 bracing which is a forward shifted X, and the top is expertly tuned during the carving of this system. The one-piece mahogany neck has been spoke shaved by hand and the other appointments include the sublimely accurate Gotoh 510 tuners, bone saddle and nut, flawless, thin poly finish and subtle Paua abalone and mother-of-pearl inlays.

The Story of How It Came To Be<br

AAAA solid Adirondack spruce top with seasoned solid Honduran mahogany body

One-piece mahogany neck with semi-gloss finish, ebony fingerboard

Assymetrical scalloped tone bars

Natural gloss top, body finish, semi-gloss neck finish

12th fret paua inlay

D'Addario EXP217 strings

Dovetail neck joint

Ebony direct coupled bridge

After 50 years of making guitars, continual improvement through the use of emerging technologies, processes, and materials is still at the heart of the Alvarez culture. Alvarez guitars are constructed correctly in every sense, from raw material preparation to construction and manufacturing processes. Their tone woods are carefully cured; components like neck blocks and wood joints are carefully designed. The painting, sanding and polishing techniques used are continually researched and developed, and their tone is impeccably crafted and married to a stable, consistent and lively sound box.

The Artist Series sound and personality is open and powerful.

For a more focused sound with fewer overtones, choose a mahogany top. For power, go for Sitka. For warmth and response to a lighter touch, choose a cedar top.

The term solid top refers to the soundboard of an acoustic guitar being made of solid wood, rather than being laminated. However, just because the top is solid, it does not necessarily mean the sound automatically benefits from this feature. The tone of the instrument only improves significantly when the whole guitar is built correctly to optimize the energy a solid soundboard can generate. Artist Series is built to do exactly this.

Each model is designed to get the best out if its components, and for them to work together to produce balance, lively projection and great response. These components include the FST2 bracing system, bi-level rosewood bridge, real bone nut and saddle, great quality tone woods and thin finish.

FST2 is a forward-shifted X-brace design, this means the axis of the X is closer to the sound hole and therefore creates a larger soundboard area allowing for more energy and vibration to be harnessed.
